CAN South Asia has a membership of over 112 CSOs spread across 7 countries in South Asia which work on climate change related issues. Find further details on the CANSA members

 Areas of work

CANSA is guided by two broad objectives:

  • Establishing a strong voice for South Asia in the UNFCCC negotiations and contributing to CAN international policy advocacy and lobby work.
  • Targeting SAARC towards a regional cooperation on initiatives to combat climate change.

In addition to the above mentioned, CANSA also focuses on strengthening the capacity of civil society in advocacy for pushing for local and national policies; setting up knowledge sharing platforms to help countries to deal with adverse impacts of climate change.

Recently, CANSA together with their member CLEAN ENERGY NEPAL (CEN) developed a new strategy for policy influencing and capacity development for 2017.
