Civil Society climate advocates from nine countries in the Southern Voices programme will attend the COP22 in Marrakech, Morocco to promote effective and equitable adaptation approaches.
From Nepal, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, Malawi, Niger, Kenya, Nicaragua, Guatemala and India – members of the Southern Voices family will join this first COP after the historic Paris agreement. The key objective is to make sure that Parties and other stakeholders will push for speed and ambition in the implementation of the Paris agreement.

At the COP22 Southern Voices partner networks will focus on the twin ambitions in implementation of the Paris Agreement: To achieve ambitious reduction of emissions to keep within the 1.5C temperature limit – and to achieve the actions and finance needed to make real the global goal on adaptation – to strengthen adaptive capacity and resilience of communities towards the negative impacts of climate change.
